First, What is Modump?
Mo: Used in Ebonics, meaning more. Why would you want more of something that wasn't good? Thus arriving at our definition: Mo means "the best."
Dump: The obvious origin is of course sh$t, but in our case it simply stands for "stuff," good or bad, big or small, solid or wet.
Modump: In essence our final definition is "the best stuff"
So are we a company you ask? No, not right now at least. We are just boulderers taking pictures, writing stories, and expressing through the internet what we feel on the rock.
Hunter Jones
Hunter climbs with commitment. When he finds a problem that catches his fancy you can rest assure it will go down. He has an uncanny ability to surprise his spotters. Not with a fall but, with a stick. Personally I think he is just playing with our heads, he can can climb hard if he wants to. I think his best trait is his "no limit" attitude; a mindset that anything is possible.
Lee Payne
Lee Payne is one of those guys you think of first to call to go climbing. Lee carries with him an aura of energy, he is always excited to go climbing and has a plethora of knowledge about the sport. He can show you every problem, give you beta, tell you the first ascensionist, and most of all give you the extra umph' of energy needed to rock over the top out.
Cooper "Mantis " Roberts
Cooper is the quintessential example of too much sugar. Where ever he is, he is always multi-tasking. Not just running (shuffle) between two or three separate projects, but filming and motivating all at the same time. Cooper hooks us up with a lot of our videos - he is the master behind Soul, The Season, Joel's Pro Tip. Keep your eye out cause he will certainly be surprising us in the future...
Dean Murray
Dean Murray fell out of the sky early last season, however, he has really found a place for himself. His never ending psych taught us a few things as we showed him the hypothetical bouldering ropes of the Southeast. In almost no time he has begun to master the sloper, as well as his new digital camera. Dean contributes photos frequently to the dump, thus carving out a permanent spot in the crew.
Joel Steidl
Joel is accredited with much of the Modump resurgence. It was brewing in our minds for a long time, but it took his genius mind to ignite the old HTML and burn a new place on the web. Joel created much of what you see now on Modump from scratch, and he continues to work with us to bring you climbing media in a professional manner. www.S-12.com
